To me? Good! Just 1 session and I feel really good after 90min compress and stretching with 26 poses(or they called it asana). The entire session is work in a hot studio. (I was told not as hot as HOT YOGA)

OVERALL - I LIKE IT

As I mentioned earlier I am not a yoga person. So, there are more thing that I need to learn in and out (technique) and the benefits of all. Then only I can share with you more about BIKRAM. Workout/exercise is not what hear/see from others about. We have to do and feel it with results.

Just a little info/article to share with you guyz. ;)

Bikram Yoga is named after its founder - Bikram Choudhury, who studied Yoga with Bishnu Ghosh, brother of Paramahansa Yogananda. It is a series of 26 poses performed in a room with temperature of 105 degrees Farenheit (about 40s celcius). Each Yoga Pose is usually performed twice and held for a certain period of time. Yoga Sessions start from Standing Postures, then the Backbends, Forward Bends, and Twists. The poses are accompanied by Kapalabhati Breath or the "blowing in firm".

Some of us might ask why Bikram YOGA in the Heated room/studio?
- Heat is used in Bikram Yoga in order to allow you to go deeper and safer into a Yoga Pose.
- Your body becomes more flexible in the heat and since most poses used in Bikram are physically challenging, heat allows you to get into a pose that you never imagined you can do.
- It also eliminates the risk of injuries, promotes sweating, and helps you release the toxins in your body.
- The poses not only work on your muscles but also on your internal organs.
- Each pose stretches and strengthens your muscles, joints, and ligaments and, at the same time release the toxins and work on your internal organs like the glands and the nervous system.

Some people are often discouraged to practice of Yoga by thinking that they are not flexible enough. Yoga is not about being flexible, but about strengthening your body and your spine in all directions with the goal of creating a union between the body, mind and spirit. All that matters is to try the right way without pushing yourself too far.

Not to worry about the jargon(mostly Yoga postures names are in SANSKRIT) what I stated the above paragraph. When you are in the class just follow what the instructor instruction. ;) Your body will tell you how far you can do/reach. FOCUS and FEEL is the words.

I will share with you more about BIKRAM yoga in next time. Especially the benefits.Dinohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13814923490126329776noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7523030759414422360.post-25511767592028389932008-01-12T17:44:00.001+08:002008-01-15T09:15:44.962+08:00Co. I've came across an articles about coffee. And it always sounds good to me, because I LOVE COFFEEEEEE....

'Coffee Protect Against Liver Disease'. I believe many of us might wanna argue / debate about having alot coffee does it means can cure so and so sickness.? Of course NO, overdoses can KILL. So, please continue reading.

People often give up coffee when they're trying to live healthier lifestyles. This is a mistake because most studies show tha coffee promotes health. Coffee stimulates the central nervous system, which improves thought process, boosts mood and prevents drowsiness. It reduces the risk of type 2 diabetes, Parkinson's disease and gallstones, but also promotes insomnia. heartburn and speeds heart rate.

Coffee is also good for the liver. In a study of more than 125K patients, researchers from the Kaiser Permanente Medical Case Program in Oakland, CA, found that people who drank the most coffee were lease likely to get alcoholic cirrhosis. Coffee drinkers also had lower blood levels of transaminase enzymes, which are markers of livers damage. Hardcore weight trainers who use certain supplements have an increased risk of liver problems, so coffee drinking could provide some protective effects.
(Archives Internal Medicine, 166: 2404, 2006; Archives Internal Medicine, 166: 1190-1195, 2006) Dinohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13814923490126329776noreply@blogger.com0
